There is a complex & often confusing system of cables, pipes, ducts, culverts & manholes buried underground. Within the Greater Wellington area, these underground assets are owned by a number of different entities eg, Chorus, PowerCo, Nova Gas, Wellington Electricity, FX Network, Smartlinks, City Link & all local Councils, to name but a few. 

 

We will provide solutions to all sub surface infrastructure locating, negating the need for you to spend time contacting all the above Asset Owners. We do it all for you. Cable Locators own a vast array of technologically advanced equipment.

 

We are able to provide comprehensive “one stop shop” locating services, detecting & physically marking all underground infrastructure. We will also coordinate & supply, for the benefit of our Clients, all infrastructure reticulation drawings. We are Wellington based & cover all areas within the Greater Wellington area.

 

CABLE AVOIDANCE TOOLS (CAT)

 

These detectors will locate sub surface metal pipes, metal cables and other underground services containing tracer wires. These detectors are the most commonly used tool in locating underground infrastructure.

GROUND PENETRATING RADAR (GPR) 

 

This radar has the ability to respond to both metallic & non metallic sub surface items. Unlike conventional CAT Detectors that are limited to locating metal pipes &cables, GPR will detect plastic, asbestos & concrete pipes, gas pipes (without tracer wires) & in fact virtually any sub surface item. Its detection abilities are limited only by unfavourable soil conditions. The radar is also able to define approximate depths of located items.

METAL DETECTORS 

 

Easy to handle & operate, & will quickly locate flat metallic items such as buried manhole lids, joint boxes etc.
